22 years old male, fractured
his hip ball and socket in car accident
|
He was treated with fixation of socket fracture
in the first stage. After eight weeks he had replacement of
his hip, making him normal again

For Late
Presentation In Fractures Of Acetabulum
At times, a person following acetabulum
fracture may present late, when the hip has remained subluxed for a long
time. This leads to pain, limp and difficulty in walking.Operation to
align broken bones is not of much use at this late stage. Only way one
can solve the problem is by replacing the hip joint.

Acetabulum Reinforcement Ring
For Late Presentation
At times, when the hip remains dislocated in central
position and the fracture heals in bad position, reconstruction may require,
reinforcement of the acetabulum with metal ring, which is fixed to the
bone with screws. The plastic cup is then fixed inside this ring using
bone cement and thus the socket of total hip is created. This is very
complex surgery.

For Complication Of Acetabulum Fracture
|
|
 |
|
|
60 yr. old gentleman fell down from
a moving bus while trying to get down, fracturing his hip socket
|
His C.T.scan showed central dislocation
of the hip
|
|
|
 |
|
|
He was operated by anterior approach
and the acetabulum was reconstructed
|
The head showed changes of avascular
necrosis, causing hip pain
|
|
|
 |
|
He was treated with cemented hip replacement

For Arthritis Following Acetabulum Fracture
A young man sustained fracture of acetabulum,
which even after fixation, led to arthritis and protrusio acetabuli, a
know complication of this fracture. He underwent successful non cemented
hip replacement with bone grafting for the protrusio.

Function after hip replacement

This gentleman, who had fracture of the acetabulum,
developed arthritis of his hip. It was successfully treated with hip replacement.
Case 1
Our centre specialises in correction of Previously
failed Hip surgeries
- Hip is a ball and socket joint
- Which allows movement in all directions
- A failed treatment makes the patient bed ridden
- Hip joint is situated deep inside the body
- It is surrounded by important nerves and vessels
- It is difficult to approach surgically
- Its anatomy is difficult to master
- Hence only an experienced surgeon can give success in these difficult
cases
Here we present our successes where others failed
60 years old gentleman had car accident Breaking his right
hip socket He was not operated initially His hip developed very severe
arthritis as The femoral head ( The ball of ball and socket joint) Got
damaged over a period of time. He underwent hip replacement surgery. Within
6 weeks he was back to his work.

Case 2
This 55 years of gentleman Had hip socket fracture. This was not operated.
He developed hip arthritis of mortar and pestle variety.

Case 3
To convert failure to success requires thorough knowledge
It requires detailed study of the case to analyse what went wrong In previous
surgeries It also requires surgical skill to undo And restore the damage
Here are some cases which failed at other centres And how they were set
back to normalcy.
23 years of man had motor cycle accident Damaging his hip
socket and ball. First surgery failed. He came to my centre. After analysing
his case it was realised that he would need very special kind of artificial
joint. Today he is back on his feet and resumed his job as Medical representative.

Case 4
A case of miserable man who had two failed surgeries Hip
replacement require a lot of experience An un experienced surgeon performing
the surgery can make the patient worse.
This gentleman underwent hip replacement surgery.
