CPM stands for Continuous Passive Motion.

The joint replacement is done to gain mobility and eliminate pain. To achieve this goal early, the operated limb is moved passively with a machine called CPM. Research has proved that this mode of treatment reduces post surgical swelling and pain, helps in early gain in range of movements.
