One of the commonest areas affected by Diabetes is the foot resulting in Diabetic foot. Diabetes affects both the arteries as well as the nerves of the foot. The damage to the nerves makes the foot numb and therefore prone to accidental injury. The damage to the arteries results in reduced blood infections and ultimately leads to gangrene.
