- This is one
of the most common complaint
- Many parents
are worried that their child is flat footed
- In new born,
the arches have not yet developed fully and the foot may appear to
be flat. But even at this stage it is advisable to have it examined
by and expert.
- When the child
starts walking at the age of one year, the muscles may not be strong
enough to support the body weight and the foot may appear flat.
- If by the
age of three years, the foot still appears flat it needs to be examined
in detail.
- Majority of
cases require simple foot wear modification in the form of Boots with
extended heel and insoles which support the arch.
