This Leg was saved from being Amputated

A young man, met with an accident while travelling by motorcycle, and sustained fracture through his Tibia (leg bone) with a large wound. This led to death of 9 cm of his bone. Due to this he had continuous discharge of pus. He had pain and his fractured bone failed to heal inspite of prolonged treatment. He was offered amputation, which he naturally refused and sought opinion. He was treated with Ilizarov treatment. The dead bone piece was removed. By internally moving his bone pieces, without bone grafting, his fracture was healed.
