CAUSES OF OSTEOARTHRITIS

Osteoarthritis. The main changes are in the articular cartilage and underlying bone. The cartilage is gradually worn away, disappearing first at the points of greatest pressure. The subchondral bone becomes sclerotic, and at the joint margins it hypertrophies to form osteophytes. |
